September was a pivotal month for the Pre-Law Society. Students showed their immediate support for the Society, as within two weeks of the semester beginning, the Pre-Law Society grew to include over forty members. The Society’s opening meeting proved to be a big success, as more than half of its members came out to learn about what members can expect from the Society. We are all looking forward to the Alumni Speaker Series which will begin in mid-October.
August was an important month for the development of the Le Moyne College Pre-Law Society. Support from alumni began rolling in, as by the end of August, the Office of Alumni and Parent Engagement were able to get a blast email sent out to alumni in the Legal Profession. Additionally, the Leadership Team met in person for the first time to discuss how to ensure that the first semester back would set a strong precedent for future semesters.
Leadership remains hard at work to make sure everything is in place to get the Le Moyne Pre-Law Society off the ground for the upcoming fall semester. Development of the website remains an important task for leadership moving forward, as well as the development of the Society’s logo. The calendar for the upcoming semester is beginning to fill up with alumni, and admissions officers interested in speaking during Society meetings. Early support from the admissions team at Syracuse University College of Law will prove an important relationship for students interested in attending Syracuse Law. Great things are on the horizon for the Pre-Law Society this semester!
Members of the Le Moyne College Pre-Law Society’s leadership team met with the Vice President of Club Development, Legende McGrath, to discuss the organization’s next steps after being officially recognized as active during the last week of the spring semester. With this information, the leadership team will begin developing the society so it can hit the ground running in the fall. The Society’s Alumni Liaison Officer has begun working with the Office of Alumni and Parent Engagement to start connecting alumni with the Society. The Society proud to be partnering with the Office of Alumni and Parent Engagement, and look forward to connecting its members with alumni.
In May 2024, the Le Moyne College Pre-Law Society was officially recognized as an active organization on campus. This is the first time since before Covid that the Pre-Law Society has been an active part of the campus community. The Society re-establishes a community of students for those who are interested in law, are interested in attending law school, or are “Pre-Law” students. While the principal goal of the society is creating a community on campus, its wider aim is to connect that community with Le Moyne’s strong alumni network. Through the strength of community, this organization will help students are they discern a career. A partnership with the Office of Alumni and Parent Engagement is an unprecedented commitment to students that their membership in the organization will provide them with the resources they need to discern their future career.
